Lazzus is a mobile system designed for and with visual impaired people to know what’s around them in real time, reducing dependency and increasing personal autonomy. GPS current solutions are based on taking someone from point A to point B, leaving an empty space that prevents visually impaired (almost 3% of worldwide population) to leave the route and find new places. With Lazzus we bring light into the void, and on the way from A to B they are able to find a bakery, a crosswalk, etc. We combine GPS signal, smartphone compass positioning and the most complete information database with our algorithm and our geopositioning system to help our users to explore and discover what surrounds them.
